Have you ever stated, “I’m not creative”? Have you ever diminished your own abilities and gifts (‘I’m not as creative as so & so’) or discredited your natural talents (‘Oh, it was nothing’; ‘It’s no big deal’)? At some point, we all have! Whether we were unaware, not encouraged, brought up to be modest, somewhere along the way we gave our inner critic’s voice power over that of our inner muse, our passionate, playful creator.
This week, let’s tune in with that inner muse. Let’s find out how it would like to Use Your Creative Gifts.
Color of the Week – Tansy Green
The vibes of our color of the week, Tansy Green, will help you hear your inner muse. How does it feel about creativity? What does it mean to be creative? What gifts did you once use and enjoy? What might be fun to create? And in what ways? What inspires your inner muse?
This color will also help you curiously explore and glean insight from that inner critic’s voice. Why don’t you think you’re creative? What makes so & so creative, or more creative than you? What did someone else acknowledge about something special you did or the manner in which you did it that you thought was no big deal?
Asking these questions of your inner critic plus the previous section’s questions of your inner muse will help you better know and understand yourself and your creative gifts. Which do you choose to use in some simple way today?
