Kaleidoscope Movie Magic – 2020 & January 2020

Kaleidoscope Movie Magic – 2020 & January 2020

Kaleidoscope group member Lisa Wellington of ReelHappiness.com shares her Reel Happiness Cinema Therapy through a write-up called “Kaleidoscope Group Movie Magic” which ties in with our monthly forecast theme. And as it’s the beginning of a new year, we have a bonus selection for 2020 to go with this year’s theme as well. Enjoy!

Sunshine Cleaning - 20082020’s selection is …Sunshine Cleaning.

A clear, unflinching look at her life forces some hard truths upon single mother Rose, giving her new eyes with which to view a serendipitous and surprising opportunity.

Dir. Christine Jeffs. Perf. Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Alan Arkin, Clifton Collins Jr., Jason Spevack, Steve Zahn, Mary Lynn Rajskub. Overture Films, 2008.

Touchstones for the Movie

♦ Pay attention to the meaning Rose finds in her new direction, and to Joe’s positivity (both guided & misguided!), and how he maintains & shares it, even when difficult.

♦ Notice how openness to say Yes to advice and assistance from others is key to Rose’s ability to recognize possibilities, develop strategies, and implement solutions.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen - 2011This month’s selection is … Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

A staid British agricultural expert finds himself assigned to an impassioned Yemeni sheik seeking to bring salmon fishing to his arid land, hoping to enhance the lives and diversify the economy of his people.

Dir. Lasse Hallström. Perf. Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt, Amr Waked, Kristin Scott Thomas. CBS Films, 2012.

As You Watch

♦ Notice how Alfred, and likely Harriet before him, had to surrender to a very different environment and approach in order to execute such an ambitious vision. In order to receive the new, we must adapt to and embrace its ways—and it will definitely be unfamiliar!

♦ Observe that although the Sheik’s unbridled openness and willingness at first seem borne of extreme wealth, they are actually sustained by a grounded vision that provides ballast. One without the other, either way, would never be able to attempt such a feat.

Guided Journaling

Lisa generously provides a handout with watching suggestions (the above represents just a portion!) & guided journaling exercises created specifically for our Kaleidoscope group. Enjoy benefits & perks like this and more when you Scope It, Shift It, and Click It™, joining our colorful community as a private client!

Each month, we take a deep dive into the month’s colors and energy. I also share what you need to know based on your own personal color preferences.

Plus, we explore readings & affirmations for additional inspiration & loving support. Since we have 2 live calls each month, there’s plenty of open Q&A and group share time with me & our members.
