Kaleidoscope group member Lisa Elin of ReelHappiness.com shares her Reel Happiness Cinema Therapy through a write-up called “Kaleidoscope Group Movie Magic.”
This month’s selection is Begin Again.
It’s the story of a music producer down on his luck for largely self-inflicted reasons, who meets an unknown songwriter facing the crossroad decisions that arrive with fame and fortune. Through an innovative and lively collaboration, both regain their footing and create a new path forward – sometimes by repairing the past, and sometimes by clarifying the future.
Whimsical tidbit: This is Keira Knightley’s first singing role, and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine’s first acting role.
Interesting Sidenote: In the way that Kelly’s vibe resonates with that of Polynesian women (“Whale Rider” and “Moana” being spot-on in previous months, so also does it resonate with the inspirational, dream-honoring spirit of writer/director John Carney, who also wrote and directed “Sing Street,” another pitch-perfect match we used earlier.
