- Notice how it all started (and continued) with Mark’s ability to spot the features com- mon to his own collective and that of the miners. Notice how he does this by distilling the common features from any difficult social contexts and interpersonal prejudices.
- Observe how empathy comes into play (or not). Highly unlikely collectives (LGBT & miners) realize that it’s commonality that matters and find friendship, while an assumed collective (Joe’s family) cannot accomplish the same, and Cliff didn’t even realize he had one. Our true and most powerful collectives may surprise us!
- Notice all the “nested collectives” – LGTBQ, miners, women, men & women wanting to dance, families, couples, enthusiastic and reluctant collaborators, opposers, & more.
