Touchstones for the Year

Click here for the 2018 forecast then consider these touchstones:

  • Hold fast to that part of you that shines like a beacon of hope, turns on your joy and sense of purpose, guides you to your definition of success and desired view as you look through your Kaleidoscope.
  • Use the North Star color to become more devoted and focused on what your intuition informs you is right, what feels good and right to you.
  • Plan, prepare, and progress by considering the consequences and value of each action, thus also becoming a beacon to others.
  • Remain alert to where you already are prepared but perhaps procrastinating or attempting to dim your bright North Star. It’s time to shine, baby!

With this in mind, let’s get to our movie! As you watch, notice where the characters embody these points (or not!), and where the general elements appear for you. For example, the three marriage suitors could just as easily be career-defining job offers for us today.

Touchstones for the Movie

  • Observe the constant elegance with which Bathsheba sets and honors her boundaries in protection of following her North Star.
  • Note her acute self-awareness and how this serves her intuition in knowing the likely outcomes of her decisions—as well as the pesky traits that cause her trouble anyway.
  • Notice how she applies her intuition to the various curve balls thrown by God/life/fate.
  • Watch for where her North Star intuition yields to a counterfeit version—do you think this was inevitable human frailty and fallout, or did she ignore herself?
  • Ponder how she never gives up on her in-tuitive direction, even after she goes astray and must find a way to rebuild.
  • Consider how she is arguably blind to a major solution before her—are the constraints real, or is she simply allowing them to be?

Moving through 2018, bounce each month’s Kaleidoscope theme against these points, and reflect upon how it’s all showing up in your life. Here’s to your North Star and all it holds!
