Your Forecast for August 2017
I’m great at starting things, coming up with ideas, kicking off projects, as many entrepreneurs and creative types are. I’m not so good at completing or finishing what I’ve started. Let me rephrase that — if I’m solely responsible and the only person doing or relying upon said project, I have a poor historical record of seeing things through. When I’m part of a team, accountable to others, and committed to causes that extend beyond my little corner of the world, I show up and get things done.
Anyone relate to this phenomenon?
I thought so! This is why August will bring a sigh of relief and a sense of release, completion, joy, satisfaction and fulfillment. You’ll let go of what’s not important to you. For example, projects weighing on your mind that may have felt important at some point, but upon closer inspection, no longer fit. This also goes for causes you were once committed to, people you once felt accountable to, corners of the world you once felt you belonged, and ideas you were once so enamored with.
Release them, let them go. Ahhhhh! There’s that sense of relief. Now in rushes a feeling of hopefulness, a surge of energy, waves of clarity and ripples of pure focus.
There, that is what is important. Here, this is where you’ll focus your energy, resources and efforts. Now, this is the month where you will Be a Finisher.
Color of the Month
Our color of the month, Glisten Yellow, will help you be more objective, know what you need and see options. This awareness feeds into the feeling of hopefulness I mentioned earlier, too. Glisten Yellow is a white tone of yellow; all our colors this month are white tones, which help to create a sense of freedom.
It’s very important to use the energy of these colors to embrace the freedom you enjoy in choosing what to release and what to focus on and finish this month.
For your reference, colors selected to represent the energy of each month and each week of the year are Sherwin Williams colors. Their architectural and design palette has been my go-to for years. You’ll see the color here, along with the Sherwin Williams paint code plus the RGB and hex code equivalent values. This helps if you’d like to use these colors in your physical space, on your desktop or when visualizing results you’d like to see this month as you’re being that finisher.
